The Trapper and The Widow
During the fur trade in the 1820s, Owen Dunn, second son of a Scottish Laird, leaves Scotland to work with his father in the New World as a fur trader. Complications arise because his father is an embittered man whom Owen had met only once in his life.
Owen meets a beautiful Indian woman, Mary Thunder Horse—the young mother of four children. Mary has her own trials. Her previous husband set her aside so he could marry a white woman and advance financially in the company. Now Mary must do all she can to keep her young family alive, all while bravely dodging slavers, avoiding arranged marriages, and trying to come to peace with her brother after a tragedy.
Will Owen and Mary realize their only chance to heal in the rough world of the fur trade is each other?
